The original manta ray is as much a piece of furniture as it is a toy. The body is made of pine and the head is handmade by a carpenter. The body is padded with foam and covered with carefully selected lambskin. Povl Kjer designed the first ray sheep for his brother's daughter, as a memory of childhood in the countryside. This was in 1981. Rokkefåret, with its signature design, has become well known, first in Denmark, followed by the rest of Scandinavia, and today the Danish design classic is sold all over the world.

The wood used is pine, which has traditionally been used for furniture in Scandinavia due to its good properties. All wood comes from Swedish or Finnish forests. The wood is FSC-certified, and our supplier always informs us of which sawmill processed the wood.

The lambskin comes from Gotland, Sweden, where the sheep roam freely with their lambs in a raw and untouched nature. All skin is bought as residual production from the meat industry, and resources are used well, which is why no part of the animal goes to waste. The leather is tanned at the best and most controlled tannery in Europe.

When it comes to sustainability, it should be mentioned that our production is local and takes place in the countryside in the heart of Denmark. The ray sheep is so durable that it can be used for several generations. If a Stingray breaks, we will repair it free of charge, no matter how old it is. We hope that our customers, both children and adults, will experience the joy of having a fantastic product that has been made with pride and care since 1981.

Care:
The lambskin is very resistant and hard-wearing and usually does not require any special care. If the wool becomes a little flat on the back, it can be brushed up with a stiff brush. The fur can be washed, but the skin should not get too wet. If the sheep has a stain on its coat, you can "wash" it with wool soap or mild soap and rub it with a towel. You don't have to be afraid of soap residue on the skin, as it simply protects the hairs.

The wood can be wiped with a damp cloth, and after a few years of use you can refresh it with a little oil.

Upholstery: 
The stingray ages with dignity, but if the skin is completely worn down, it can be reupholstered. At the same time, the frame is inspected and tightened if necessary. 

Repairs:
Irregularities in wood and production are so rare that we have so far carried out all repairs without time limits and additional costs. Extra heavy wear and shipping costs are exceptions, and extra costs may occur in this connection. Repairs are only carried out on direct request.
